Tips on Making server public with Dynamic IP behind NATⅠ

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

Below are some simple tips for noobs how make your server hosted on 2 machines public if you have dynamic IP address and your machines are behind NAT.

Configure your router. In this step we need to setup first DDNS (Dynamic Domain Name Server) on our router. Most of Cisco, Linksys by Cisco routers are support by default DDNS service from dyndns.org or tzo.com.

First we need to login into router administration panel. For this open a web browser and type there your router IP address. In Linksys WAG200G by default (like in most of routers): 192.168.1.1. Here you put your dyndns.org username, dyndns.org password, and domain name what you created in dyndns.org, example: myserver.dyndns.org. Here will be displayed your ISP dynamic IP

To get your DYNDNS free account, you can register your free dyndns.org account at this link dyndns.org. DynDNS is free in basic option and cost 0 until you decide to use DynDNS Pro. It is paid service.

Next step is setting up port forwarding in your router. Here give a name your application for what you want redirect port. Then put number of port which you want to redirect and number of port to which you want redirect destination port. Put here IP address of machine to where you want forward all packets sent on destination port. Make check on enable redirection. For example, you have installed Apache Server on your pc and your Apache using port 80 by default. You can also configure Apache to work with another port. Http service use port 80, so you can put in your config: Application (http), External port (80), Internal port (80) or any another Apache Server or IIS using, and IP address (here you put your machine local IP address where you have installed Apache Server or IIS, example 192.168.1.100). So same for game client connection to server: Application (Game Client), External port (15779), internal port (15779) and IP address (here you put your 1st machine local IP address, example 192.168.1.100). And now your server is accessible by all without hamachi or VPN. You need also have opened all needed ports between 2 machines but this u set in each machine.

Your private network in home between hosts should work correctly if you want to make your server public. The best is when your router gives static IP to hosts inside your private network – related to MAC address of host. Make sure you not gave to your hosts network base IP or broadcast IP address because your network not will work correctly.

How to Add FB items to NPC

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

This post is about how to make FB items in NPC. First off you need to add the items you want to have FB in any stall of your choice if you wish if you haven’t done already.

First, open SMC and make the item that you want to be made FB on the stalls. Once you have made the item you will see the item highlighted. In the third fourth slot you will see the item ID. Remember that item ID and go to your SHARD database and open dbo._Items in the first row you will have you ID slots. Look for your number and there you will see your item.

Here opt level is the plus of the item. The variance figure represents the items stats (white stats). Data represents the item quantity or in this case the durability. MagParam is there to show the amount of Magic options is on the item. MagParamm1, 2,3,4,5 represents each blue stat on the item.

Now open up dbo._RefScrapOfPackageItem which is also in SHARD database (keep dbo._Item open)

You add in all the info you need. Those who have added items to NPC before will know what to do. Once you get to opt level. Input your information (basically copy and paste each code from dbo._Items in those rows)

Once you have done all of that you must do the same to the media.pk2 file. RefScrapOfPackageItem.txt just copy and paste that row.

Now you have just added your first FB item to NPC. You may think this is long and you’re correct it is. But you can still save you loads of time with some tips. All weapons of the same degree will have the same codes. All Head Chest and Legs of the same Degree will have the same code and all Shoulders hands and Foot will have the same code. the reason to why the items are separated are because Head Chest and Legs have 2 extra blue stats being HP and MP therefore you need to have 2 extra codes.

Once you keep doing it you will get faster and faster and you will be done in no time. Also keep saving the files and check in game frequently to see that you are doing it all right and that you don’t mess up media.

Guide to Gold bot exploit

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011

This is a simple method for temporarily getting rid of gold bots without actually having to kill them or involving NPC hunters and it can even be done by a level 1 player.

First, find a suitable trap location. The best location for trapping is in a crack between rocks. Other locations can be used, for example a long wall or on the edge of a cliff if you are not afraid of heights. Below are examples of these locations. Note that these are not the only locations to trap bots since these same structures can be found throughout the game. Basically any structure that blocks your path will work.

Then drop gold. If you are using a crack, then move yourself into the crack as far as you can a drop 1 gold piece. To drop 1 gold piece, open inventory, select the gold icon, type 1 then confirm.

Next, wait and drop again. Bots nearby will come running for the gold. Keep dropping 1 gold piece about every 10 seconds to get the attention of other bots who may have moved into range. If a bot gets lucky and gets your gold piece, the other bots will walk away so you will need to keep dropping gold to keep their attention.

Watch you trap in action! The bots make a bee-line for the gold which they cannot get too since you have placed it in a location that cannot be reached directly. Once the bots become blocked for a period of time (about 10 seconds) they sit down and invoke a return scroll.

Repeat as necessary. If you send a bot home enough times it will not come back and will remain in town.

This method does not work on all bots but does seem to work on the worst gold bots. With some practice you can catch many bots in a short time.

Dp`R}es – Max it. This is going to be the most used skill line up to level 30, very strong attack line.

Ghost Spear Attack Series – Max it. Attack line almost matches the skill line above, multiple mobs at once.

Chain Spear Attack Series – Max it. This is the coolest looking skill line. Combo attacks up to 7. Only if you have the SP

Flying Dragon Spear Series – Max it. It will be the skill line you use right after Nukes, a ranged attack.

CHEOLSAM FORCE SERIES – Max it. It is a tasty HP bonus every 10 levels, and you can’t go wrong there.

Fire tree

Fire Force Series – Max it. It is your main weapon imbue, you’re going to need it.

Fire Shield Series – Optional. You will need a shield for this series, but it doesn’t hurt to have it for PvP.

Flame Body Series – Max it. You are a part of the Chinese race, and you do both magic and physical damage.

Fire Protection Series – Max it. They are Active magic resistance buffs, so take the whole line.

Fire Wall Series – Optional. It’s a good line for PvP, but you cannot walk when using.

Flame Wave Series – Pick & Choose. Your main Nukes, you don’t need every one, though.

Fire Combustion Series – Optional. For detecting Stealth/Invisible players. Good for jobbing.

Flame Devil Force Series – Max it. Your Fire passive, permanently increases physical damage.

In the Lightning tree:

Thunder Force Series – Optional. The Fire imbue is stronger, take this if you want.

Piercing Force Series – Max it. This will be your favorite buff line at higher levels.

Thunder Walk Series – Max it. You will have a great increase in running speed, take it.

Lion Shout Series – Max it. It will become quite useful under level 30, and after level 30.

Concentration Series – Max it. It will increase parry ratio.

Thunderbolt Force Series – Pick & Choose. Your second nuke line, same as Fire Nukes.

Heaven’s Force Series – Max it. Lightning passive, increases parry rate.

The Ice Skills

If you choose to take Ice over Light/Fire:

Cold Force Series – Optional. It’s the weakest of the 3 force imbues, but will provide frostbite/freeze often in PvE.

Frost Guard Series – Max it. This is the physical defense buff.

Cold Wave Attack Series – Skip. It is useless, because you will have other ice spells which can do this.

Frost Wall Series – Max it. It is perfect for PvP, I recommend this.

Frost Nova Series – Optional. It is good for when you’re surrounded by a lot of mobs, but no other practical use.

Snow Storm Series – Max it. It is the weakest of the 3, but has the largest AoE in later levels.

Snow Shield Series – Max it. It’ll be your bread and butter for PvP, and good for getting out of tight situations in PvE.

Cold Armor Series – Max it. It permanently increases physical defense, so take it.

The Armor

Garment – 20% faster run, less MP usage, but low physical defense, with high magical defense

Protector – 10% faster run, the middle of the 3 armors.

Armor – Highest physical defense, lowest magical defense, my personal favorite, even though you don’t get a seed boost. You have speed buffs.

Shield – I recommend a +5 shield or better for PvP.

The Leveling

Fast leveler, but make sure you have the SP for the skills, or you will regret it.

1 – 6 – Mangyang/Weasel, don’t use any SP.

6 – 30 – get farmed to level 30. Go to Ongs and find a free party or bot party and join with Exp Auto-Share. DON’T USE SP. Once you reach level 25-26, de-level by dying to level 19, and keep farming until you get the amount of SP you want. Preferably 30k +.

30 to level cap – Level 30, you can officially use Nukes. By this time you should have a decent amount of SP, and you should have some skills leveled. Now one way to level is by doing quests/grinding at once. As you level, try to maintain a 5-7 level gap between your highest mastery, and character level so you can keep getting good SP.

You could keep getting farmed in higher level parties, but this time using the gap system instead of not using SP. Then when you’re bored of that, go have fun hunting/thieving, Uniques, PvP, looting from grinding, ect.

No gap until 105, and farm at the Job Temple

Go the distance, and put masteries to 10, and farm 500k – 2M SP at Ongs. The best method I’ve seen for this is once you reach level 19, get the masteries to 10, then stop. Level to 24 – 26, die until you’re level 19 again, and repeat.

Tips on CHN Spear nuker

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011

A Nuker is a build in which you will put stat points into intelligence. Of course there are hybrid nukes, BUT, if you want to hit the most you can: Go pure. You won’t have a ton of HP, but with the damage you will be doing, who cares? Plus, as a spear Nuker, you will have the Cheolsam Force passive from the Heuksal tree which boosts your HP by a considerable amount. This is an INT pure nuker geared towards PvE.

You will be a solo build. It will be hard to find a party because most parties are Euro and if there is a Chinese player, the party doesn’t get the max experience possible. So it would be best to find other Chinese players to party with if you plan on party play.

The trees you can take include:

Fire – recommended for PvE preferred

Lightning – Recommended

Cold – Recommended for PvP preferred

Heuksal

Choose the final tree. Let’s make this simple: If you’re going to be doing more PvE(player versus environment) then you should take the Lightning tree. The reason is that you have speed buffs, magical damage buffs, and the second strongest nuke.

If you are going to stick to PvP mainly, the Cold tree is recommended. The reason is for the defense buffs, potential freezing of the opponent (not so much at high levels) and the physical defense passive.

Heuksal tree

Annihilating Blade Series – Skip.

Fanning Spear Series – Books 1, 3, and 5. It is great for PvP.

Heuksal Spear Series – Max it. It is a standard attack line for the spear skills.

Soul Departs Series – Max it.

Tips on PvP and PvE

Monday, November 21st, 2011

The main thing to think about when you’re facing off with another player is how you will defeat them. You really have to pay attention and look at what they do. When you start off a PvP, start off with a lightning nuke and then use strong bow. Keep pounding away with lightning nuke and strong bow until you start to notice your hp going down, that is when you execute your arrow combo and hopefully it knocks them back, if it doesn’t, ghost phantom out of there. Keep pounding away at lightning nukes, strong bows, and other skills you have and use your ghost phantom and arrow combo to save their life.

Start off with a bow attack, strong arrow or explosion arrow. Throw them off guard, if this is your first pvp against them, they will not know you are a pure int. After that start pounding them with nukes and then use your bow skills. Hopefully it works out, Bowers overall don’t get to shine until their 70s but what the heck, make your time getting there worth it.

PvE

When you fight a monster, you should start off with a nuke, strong bow, or demon arrow/anti devil and then use arrow combo on them. Giants and party monsters, you should just fight them, spam your buttons kill them off.

Attack Rating buffs and blues [increase stats on items] mean that it will help you do the highest damage you can do. That doesn’t mean doing 99,999 damage, for example, if you notice your damage with your nukes or arrow skills (single out 1) go from 700 to 1200, the attack rating will help your minimum damage stay above 850 or even 950 if you have a lot of attack rating blues.

Parry Ratio is almost the same as attack rating, but this time, it helps keep damage done to you at a minimal. Even though I told you that the skills mentioned are optional, it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t get it. Fill up your toolbar, level some of them up so you don’t get bored.

Remember to use SNOW SHIELD, it will help keep your defense up and help you survive!

SRO Guide to Bard/Cleric

Monday, November 21st, 2011

A bard cleric is one of the most, if not the most wanted build in a party. The reason is because you are a versatile buffer. In parties, you can restore mana, absorb damage, nuke monster, and increase damage as a bard or heal HP, resurrect party members, buff party members with INT and STR as well as physical and magical defense, and protect against harmful statuses.

Although they may shine while jobbing in groups, bard clerics are not much of 1vs1 PvPers. They may stand a chance against wizards, but against other builds it will be tough to win! Also, during the lower levels, not many players realize the benefit of having a bard in their party – many would rather another wizard or attacker. This build is also not much of a solo leveling build. Sure, you won’t need any MP and only a few HP pots, but bards must 2-3 hit mobs their level.

Mana orbit at level 90 requires around 15K MP to cast and that extra mana will sure come in handy when healing as a cleric when you are unable to switch back to bard. Pure INT will also increase your damage from your nukes, which is vital if you plan to be a battle bard!

Although a Hybrid is not bad, this will severely limit your ability to heal and you won’t be able to “buff” to your full potential. A little bit of STR won’t harm you that much, though. It will increase your survivability by a tiny bit, but it will decrease your damage. Every INT counts!

Armor

Light Armor! Wearing Light Armor will give you a good balance between physical and magical defense as well as give you a 10% moving speed boost (that’s 120% speed at 100) and 10% mana reduction! Also, the cleric passives for Light Armor give around 150 phys defense and 200 mag defense boost. They also increase the defense and and str and int on a buffed target!

Weapons

Harp and Cleric Rod of course! You may think that since you are a buffer build, the magical damage on your weapon does not matter – but that is not true! The amount of health and mana you can heal depends on your magical attack and reinforce on your weapon! So it is important to always have at least a +3 harps and Cleric rod with decent magical attack percents. At the cap, I would recommend to +5 each of your weapons.

Bard Skills

Bard’s Dream

These are the passives that make a good bard buffer. The first increases damage done by bard nukes, the second passive increases the range for which your tambours and moving march are effective, the third lowers the mana consumption of your tambours, and the fourth increases your resistance. Resistance is useful so if you do get attacked while using a tambour, it is most likely to stay up. This is the key in parties with multiple bards buffing with dances.

Battle Chord

These are your nukes. If you want to call yourself a battle bard, you need these. The first horror chord hits a single target, the second, booming chord, hits multiple targets without the need to target a specific one, skip the third skill, the fourth is the second version of horror chord but hits multiple targets, and the fifth is the higher version of booming wave.

Music Pleasure

This line contains all of the bard’s core buffs. They consist of tambours (music protection that absorbs up to 40% phys and mag damage), movement buffs, and also tambours that increase the party’s hit rating. You must get all of these.

Sound

This series contains mainly your mana restoration skills. Tuning noise and Tuning sound are both absolute damage skills. These are great if your opponent has blessed and screens on because they will always deliver the same damage no matter what. The infamous Noise skill, which prevents normal and party mobs from attacking you, is a must for an INT bard. Mana Cycle restores MP to a single target while Mana Orbit restores mana to up to 8 players within range in a party. Skip Mana wind/breeze because it aggros, and discordant wave can also end up bringing mobs onto you.

Beautiful Life

These are your passives for your dances. They increase the range your dance is effective and also increase your resistance so the dances can stay up even under attack.

Dancing Concert

These skills are useable when there are 2+ bards in the party. The initial bard must do a tambour and then the second bard can then do one of the above dances. In order, they increase phys damage, mag damage, effect of healing, reduce of mana consumption, and then the higher books of phys damage, mag damage, effect of healing, reduce of mana consumption. Take all that apply to what you would like to do in the party! Dancing of Wizardry is by far the most used, so take that for sure!

Cleric Skills

Divine Creed

Max this if you have the skill points – it increases your clerical attack damage. You can’t pull off an offering without this skill. For those of you who don’t know, a cleric’s offering is the hardest hitting skill in the game and without that 100% damage increase at the cap, you will do petty damage. You will probably also be attacking with cleric a lot if you are healing in group pvp.

Cardinal Praise

If you plan on attacking as cleric, be sure to max trial cross and justice cross. Also be sure to max the last book, Integrity, of this skill line as well. It does not have any prerequisite skill either. When used, it clears 2 bad statuses from the whole party in range. That’s great if someone in the party is burned or has zombie effect.

Mental Culture

This passive requires the use of robes and a cleric rod and gives HP recovery 20% increase and MP 10% reduce. We are not wearing robes so this passive won’t help us that much, but we need to max it in order to get recovery division and healing orbit.

Mortal Recovery

These are our main attacks as a cleric. We will use these on the target between heals in order to take him down faster. The great thing is, no matter the target is fully buffed with blesses or screens, these always do the same damage. At the max level, these puppies hit about 10k or so and can really pack a punch against INT builds. Max them!

Recovery

This skill line contains most of your heals. The first book, group healing, heals a decent amount of HP but takes some time to cast while the second book, healing division, casts almost instantly but only shares healing power with the 3 members with the lowest HP in the party. Both of these skills agro, and so do their 2nd tier books as well, group healing breath and healing favor, respectively. Max these skills if you plan to be healing large amounts of HP – stuff that healing orbit can’t handle. The third and sixth books of this series are a must to max. They are like mana cycle and mana orbit, except they heal a specific amount of HP every 2 seconds for 16 seconds. Healing cycle only applies to one target while orbit works on the whole party in range.

Blessed Recovery

This is your second line of healing skills. The first book is bless spell and must be maxed. This increases the party’s physical and magical defense greatly for 45 sec. I personally have not found a use for books 2 and 5 yet, so they are not required. They heal the HP of a specific party member greatly. Books 3 and 6 are recovery division! This is the whole reason many people take cleric as a sub. This little skill heals HP every few seconds, and really helps make up for that nasty Euro pot delay. Lastly, you have group recovery and holy group recovery. These healing skills are an instant cast and heal the party’s entire HP. This is great in dire situations when the party is dying and needs a quick boost! Max it!

Resurrection

At least the first 2 books of this series must be maxed for the 100 cap. These skills can revive targets up to 20 levels higher than you. Group reverse resurrects all party members within a range and reverse oblation revives a single target and for a time gives the target a 65% HP increase and 65% damage absorption. Even if you don’t want to give the target this buff, he can easily dismiss it by right clicking it on the top of his screen.

Glory

These passives are the reason we are wearing light armor. The first book is as follows at level 90: When a target is blessed, STR 13 increase, INT 13 increase, Physical defense 62 increase, Magical defense 100 increases. That extra defense or STR/INT could be the difference between a win and loss! The second book gives you around 150 extra physical defenses when in light armor and using a cleric rod, and the third gives you around 200 magical defenses when in LA and using a cleric rod. Max them all!!

Sacrifice

The highest hitting skill in the game at a whopping 967%! This skill combined with the clerical attack increase skill will be sure to drop some jaws over the damage output. Max this only if you have enough SP to max the attack increase skill.

Saint Prayer

Max the third book, Holy Word only. This will prevent you and the party from getting bad statuses from mobs as well as players. It does not require the first book to max it. We don’t need heaven flash because we already have the bard skill that gives bind status.

Blessing

Max all of these! They give extra STR, INT, physical defense, and magical defense to the target. At max they give around 40 extra STR/INT, which adds quite an advantage to whomever is being buffed.

The Weapons Needed For Pure INT Bow

Friday, November 18th, 2011

What a bower has is its bow and arrows in Silkroad online. The bow symbolizes the long and far attacks and the arrow for the bow to shoot. For pure INT bow, of course, bow is the main weapon. Additional to it, armor, protector and garment are also important and useful.

Bow is your main weapon. The bow is bonnie and you are clyde. You work together as one. It would be good for you if you aim for a weapon that is +3 or sox (sos/som/sosun) around your level or at least +5. Look for some that have high crits and good magic attack percentage. You really need to focus on getting a good bow so you can kill monsters with it and show it off.

Armor is the best equipment to use at lower levels. For this build, it is only justified towards physical defense which doesn’t cover the magical defense. It is great to use while leveling up but don’t use it at higher levels.

Protector is a pretty good piece of work that joymax made. It isn’t more to physical or magical defense. It is sort of in between. This is a great armor to use at low levels and high levels. Not only that, it gives a 10% moving speed AND saves mp due to how it helps restore mp after a skill is used.

Garment is the most famous equipment out of the three worn. It gives 20% extra moving speed and helps save MP more. Even though it is more justified towards the magical defense, alot of people use it at higher levels due to the fact that it not only looks cool but helps them out with speed and money.

The Skills Needed For Pure INT Bow

Friday, November 18th, 2011

The basics of a bower is that you can stand from afar and shoot your arrows and also attack up close, strong critical, knockback skills, and stun which immobilizes another monster or character. The wider you string a bow, the stronger the arrow will hit. The longer you train, the stronger your skills will hit. INT is a great asset to archers, the more INT they have, the more damage their skills do. Also a great thing that if archers are pure INT, is that when they invest into a force tree like fire/cold/light then they can also get the nukes, which do tons of damage.

This build is going to basically be the same as a pure INT s/s or a pure INT spear but this time, we max out more of the skills.

Pacheon

+Anti Devil Bow: Optional. This skill can be maxed or invested into but isn’t needed. It helps you get to level 30 quicker for nukes, but then delevel.

+Arrow Combo Attack: Required. This skill is a great asset at higher levels to you. This skill is mostly used to either finish off a mob or another player. In PvP, this skill is used to either cancel out another attack or to knockback an opponent to keep distance between the two players.

+Hawk Training Series: Required. To a nuker, they need high attack rating so they can do damage the highest they can. So get the white and blue hawk, even though the lightning looks way cooler. But if you want to get the black or lightning hawk, go ahead, it’s like an extra wolf/bear/penguin/crow, they help you attack but these skill birds don’t die.

+Autumn Wind Arrow: Optional. This skill is basically like the 2nd book of the fire nuke, it shoots an arrow in a straight line and whoever is in range of the arrow gets hurt.

+Break Heaven Arrow: Required. This skill should be maxed.

+Explosion Arrow: Optional. The percentage of this skill in its 3rd book makes it one of the strongest skills for Chinese race other than nukes. If you’re pure INT, it will do almost about the same damage as a nuke. It is an AOE skill which attacks monsters around your target as well.

+Strong Bow: Required. This is one of the core skills in pacheon for a pure INT bow build. It is a very strong skill and immobilizes an opponent. It is great in PvP to cancel out attacks and to stop people from running and in PvE to help people level. It also does close to the damage of a nuke for pure INT bow build as well.

+Mind Bow: Optional. This skill is a good skill to use when grinding, this attracts a lot of mobs. It is great to use in power level if you ever think you need some extra cash.

+Mind Concentration: Required. This is a passive skill. When you level it up its automatic, you don’t have to rebuff to get it back up and it increases attack rating which is a beneficial factor to your damage since it increases attack rating.

Lightning

Thunder Force: Required. You need this skill to allow you to do the most damage you are capable of doing. It is sort of like a temporary buff that you can use over and over, once it runs out, tap the button you assigned it to and it starts again. This is also known as an imbue and the thunder force imbue can splash damage to another monster.

Piercing Force: Required. This buff increases your damage dramatically, when maxed up to this cap. If you have good equipment with good blues, you might be able to 1 hit the monsters your level with this buff.

Wind Walk: Required. This is a speed buff, allowing you almost double the speed when maxed. There is also a phantom ghost walk which makes you dash where you click. If you don’t click anywhere though, they run in any random direction. This skill is great, allowing you to grind faster and escape with ease.

Lion Shout: Optional. this skill is a great skill to use to finish off a monster. But you shouldn’t use it due to the fact that you have arrow combo which is a pretty quick attack and does more damage.

Concentration: Required. This skill is almost the same as attack rating except it increases parry ratio. It just basically keeps the damage minimal to you.

Thunderbolt Force: Required. This is an overall great skill. It is a nuke which is probably one of your first magical attacks. It is great to use in PvP and PvE due to the fact that it deals great damage and it transfers as well.

Heaven’s Force: Required. Just like the passive before it, this one is a permanent upgrade as well. You don’t have to buff at all in order for this to go into effect.

Cold

Cold Force: Optional. This skill is just like thunder force except this is a little bit weaker, can freeze and frostbite people, and can’t hit multiple monsters.

Frost Guard: Required. It is plays an important role in this build, when the whole series is maxed up to this cap, you can have a total of 158 extra defenses. Every INT character should have this skill to survive a lot longer than they do.

Cold Wave Attack: Optional. This skill basically frostbites your opponent which slows them down but that is it. They can use a pill and that effect is gone so you can invest into it but do not waste your points.

Frost Wall: Optional. Frost wall isn’t really that important. You use the skill and you become immobile but you can still attack. It isn’t very good because you can put it off and when you are right about to kill someone, they ghost phantom off and you can’t move unless you cancel the attack because you’re stuck in this little wall.

Frost Nova: Optional. It has great animation.

Snow Storm: Required. The effects of this series and the animation are to die for, well not really. This nuke has great AOE damage and hits a lot of monsters. Its damage isn’t as much as the lightning nuke but it is decent.

Snow Shield: Required. This is the knife to spread the butter on your sandwich. You need this to survive against a majority of the other builds out there.

Cold Armor: Required. This is a pretty cool passive; it increases physical defense and again, its permanent, no need to buff.

Fire

Fire is not needed for this build. It is possible to switch cold with fire and fire with light but then you would be putting yourself more vulnerable. So we are skipping fire.

Blader Guide in Silkroad online

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

Although Bladers deal the lowest damage out of any other build, they are one of the strongest PvP build on SRO, not to mention the best tanks.

The Gear

For a Cold Blader, Garment is perfect. Str builds have a high phy defense already, and the Cold phy buff and passive gives you an even higher phy defense. This leaves you with a low mag defence though, but Garment makes up for it. Garment is also useful for the 20% speed increase, and reduces your MP consumption by 20% which is extremely useful when PvPing with 25% Snow Shield. At the cap, your Garment set needs to be fully pimped and at least +5 to give you any chance against your own level in PvP. This is less important when your lower level. Same applies for Light Bladers too.

Phy and Mag % – Obviously the higher the %, the more defense you will have. For most people, 41% is minimum. This is the least important white, so if you are struggling for money, you can probably leave these without it making a considerable difference.

Parry Ratio % – The most important white on your set. If you don’t know what parry does, I will explain. Say the damage you receive from a mob has a range between 500 and 700 for example, the higher your parry, the more chance of the mob hitting 500 damage. Basically, the higher your parry, the higher your defense, and the less damage you will receive. This white should always be pimped at the cap or else you will be at a huge disadvantage to other players. I like to have mine at at least 61%. Obviously if you’re low level it’s less important.

Phy and Mag Reinforcment % – Your phy defence is dependent on how much Str you have. If you have 500 Str for example, and have a phy reinforcement of 50%, then the defence of that piece of gear will be phy defence + 0.5 x 500. This is why Str builds have more phy defence than Int builds, and vice versa for Int builds. Your total phy defence is all physical defences on your gear, plus the total of all the reinforcements. Like all the other stats, it only really makes a difference at higher levels.

The Blade

Phy and Mag % – Obviously the higher the %, the more damage you will make. Because you are Str, most of your damage is physical so a phy of 61%+ is essential. The mag % is slightly less important but it’s not completely useless. 41%+ would be recommended.

Attack Rating % – Extremely important to increase your damage. Works the same way as parry. This white should be at least 61%.

Critical % – As a phy build, this is the most important white on your Blade. Without crits you probably wouldn’t be able to kill anyone your level. As a Blader, crits are what kill your opponent in PvP. One crit will double your phy damage by 100%. Your 98 Blade should have a crit of at least 9 (58%) or more if you can afford it.

Phy and Mag Reinforcement % – The second most important white on your Blade. The phy rein % should be at least 61%, and the mag rein % at least 41%. The reinforcements on the Blade work the same way as the reinforcements on gear, but increasing attack power instead of defense.

Pure STR Glaive/Bow Dual Weapon Guide

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

Pure STR Glaive/Bow Dual weapon is not very common and not many people actually bother to try build. But it is actually useful to help people to make up weirdly skilled characters. Oh, and there definitely haven’t been any other guides of this build and I have quite a lot of experience with it so I wanted to make one.

Although you do get some advantages over other possible builds you will also face some big disadvantages which will be annoying. To make something like this you must be fully aware of them. Having two weapons makes the character more universal.

One of its pros is higher HP than other STR characters. Also it has high attack rating because of pacheon passive skill and hawk buff. Also Good mag. defense because Fire buff and heuksal 15 sec def. increase. There are a lot of disruptive skills including bow knock back combo. It has high damage and killer crits.

However, it has lower Phy defense than most of other STR characters. There is no snow shield that makes it hard for you to tank multiple opponents and no constant shield use (more about that in the PvP section). It is slow because there is no speed increase buff. It has lower parry ratio than other characters with Light mastery. Switching from bow to glaive is hard thus making the build not lag friendly (not noob friendly too).

The best possible choice for armor would be having 2 sets. Armor for STR opponents/monsters and Garment for INT. Unfortunately usually this isn’t possible. Having a fully pimped set will cost you a fortune and having 2 of them is just insane. This leaves us with the second option which is using protector. Protector is like the in between equipment. It is good for both phy and mag opponents.

The best weapons are Bow and a Glaive. Since bow will most likely be more of a disruptive weapon than the one you will use to kill people with you might want to consider investing in a better Glaive if you are low on gold, nevertheless your final goal is to have to have both of these weapons pimped.

You will also need a shield. Don’t worry anything fancy is needed here. You won’t use it that much although it will be very useful at times. Sealed shields have higher blocking ratio than normal. Of course if you are rich enough get the best shield you can. Also having a higher level shield increases your defense a lot more compared to level 1 shield.

It is the time to play with your character.

For PvP, try not to use strong bow unless your opponent is stunned. You will be open for shots if you do. Practice switching to shield while grinding. If you really suck at switching from bow to glaive you might want to consider only using heuksal skills and knock back combo. It also works.

For PvE, it depends on you. You have many skills and 2 weapons. You can grind with any of them. The fastest soloing way would probably be finding a spot with a lot of monsters and luring them onto you with mind bow skills and finishing them with ghost spears. Second best is fighting with only bow followed by only glaive.

You are ready to play now! The most spam soul spear skills and try to finish off with a ghost spear which is a tactic but still a rather poor one.
