Silkroad Guide to SP Farming

Wednesday, August 31st, 2011

That’s right SP farming will be amazing effective at that time! How you ask yourself? It’s easy if u know some tricks. In that level range ur gunna b in Hotan already. Barely fighting ur was out of the grasslands… and into the snow, we go.

Go to the Ishades and Hashades near Kakkoram (look on a map, provided by the mmosite monsters mapping to find exactly where), they spawn like the devil flowers, in the same spot every time… but here is the trick, they spawn more rapidly AND closer together.

This trick is mostly effective for ranged characters, bows or nukers, but some close knit spots can be used for any builds (their usually taken up by other ppl tho). This spot is so good.

Okay back to the topic. Right before entering the true ice palace Gate, cut 90 degrees left and follows the road that would eventually lead u to the yetis. There are certain spots that are amazing, for instance: 3 spawn in a circle around u, far away enough not to attack u by agro but close enough so u doesn’t have to run! (If ur ranged that is). U can sit in one spot just popin them down over and over (if u have a monkey EVEN BETTER!) and they keep spawning in a 1m radius of the one you just killed! It’s so great that it rivals the spawning time of the archers in the bandit den!

Alfred’s Healer Guide for Silkroad Online

Wednesday, August 31st, 2011

Why choose to become a healer? Well, you will play an important role in your guild especially when reaching higher levels. Not everyone chooses to level up the force mastery high enough, because they want to leave room for other skills that fits them better. Having someone focusing on the force tree in the guild then, leaves everyone more freely to choose what they want and not having the pressure of getting the force mastery just to be able to resurrect (bring someone back to life).

Your play style will certainly be more different than the others. Instead of attacking your enemy, you will more likely do your best to support your friends. But if the situation needs it, you will not be a total weak damage dealer and can jump into the heat of the battle knowing you can deal as much as heal.

When building a healer, you have many ways to choose between. The intentions with this certain build are mainly speed, high HP and good defense. There are three masteries to focus on: the one for your weapon, lightning and force. Any left mastery point is up to you where to put it. But because of having already three mastery trees, you should avoid the others unless you feel you got an abundance of skill points (SP).

You should put your stat points mainly into STR. This will give you alot of HP at the cost of having lower MP. The reason for choosing STR instead of INT as a healer, is imo simply that you must stay alive as long as possible. If the healer goes down to easy, he/she aren’t much of a help to the others. Going pure STR may not be necessary, but there are no reasons to not do it. Lots of HP will just do you good, while the MP will be more than enough for the healing skills.

Gear to use

The ones you have to choose between are either glavie, blade or bow. All are STR based weapons (the bow works either direction) and what to choose here is all up to you. I am myself using a blade and the reason for that is the extra defense the shield gives. A block from the shield in a sticky situation can be the difference of life and death.

As a blader you will not deal the highest damage, but this is not the main task of this build. You will not be useless in PvP though, because like any other blader build you will be able to recieve alot of damage and many times kill your opponent. Just like any other weapon of use, it has its advantages and disadvantages. So please don’t make this guide into some weapon discussion thread. The main reason I choose blade is explained above.

Because of this build being based on speed, garment is the protection to use. It provides 20% speed increase and also better protection against magical damage (which is mostly higher than physical) and a -20% MP consumption. You will need it all to stay alive as long as possible and don’t run out of MP potions too fast.

Force skills

Force -This is your main mastery tree, because it contains all your healing skills. You want to keep this as high as possible and a good thing about it, is that you can also help those who are higher level than you. So you don’t need to be at the top of your guild.

Self heal series-This skill is used to heal your own HP. But the heal series do the job much better and can be used on both others and yourself. So no need to waste any SP on this.

Force cure series-Works just like an universal pill and heals any curable abnormal status. It is slow compared to the pills but usefull if any of your friends runs out of them. If you feel you got the SP, you can upgrade it just in case.

Heal series-Heals alot more HP than self heal series and as told above, you can use it on both yourself and others. Good for a quick HP raise and to give a friend the upper hand in a PvP fight.

Rebirth art series-Undoubtedly the most important skill as a healer. Its use is to revive other players and while doing jobs, it will give you a great advantage when facing an enemy. You can heal players up to ten levels above you, assuming you have the the Force mastery at the same level as yourself.

Natural therapy series-A really helpfull skill, both for jobs and when killing mobs. It brings out a large ring, when inside you are safe from mobs up to a certain level. It also provides a faster HP and MP regrowing rate while resting. You are not safe though from champion-, elite-, giant- or unique mobs who can attack you inside of it. If a trade animal goes down, put this up around the trade goods. To be able to bring out a new one, you must stay away from being atacked within 20 seconds. Having this as a protection makes it all much easier.

Vital spot attack series-You get two skills out of this, vital spot-muscle and vital spot-spirit. The first one is used to decrease someone’s parry ratio and the second one to decrease someone’s attack rating. It lasts for ten seconds when inflicted and has a good regrow rate so you can hit many targets fast. The vital spot-muscle can be really usefull on STR builds because of their large amount of HP. When the parry ratio is lowered, the target will recive more damage. And for nukers or other hard hitting builds, a decreased attack rating will make their attacks weaker. You can inflict your target with both of them at the same time and the status can not be cured with uni pills. These skills can be used at any time without getting offender status. Its even possible to use them in a city’s safe zone.

Force increasing series-This skill is a passive one and adds up on your MP. Very usefull because you will have a low amount of MP due to your STR build.

Lightning-This mastery is what gives the build a good survival rate. You need to be able to avoid being targeted by several enemys and the best skill for that is imo speed. The lightning tree also provides increased parry ratio so you recieve lower damage.

Thunder force series-This will be your weapon imbue. Just like fire and ice, it adds up some extra power to your weapon. It has a transfer rate of 3m and give away extra damage to two nearby targets, so be prepared to agro mobs around you when fighting. Not much of a problem though, as you have plenty of HP to your advantage compared to an INT build. It will also inflict your target with electricity, which lower the parry ratio. For mobs this is usefull, while player enemys can easily cure the effect with uni pills.

Piercing force series-It increases the magical damage (INT build) you deal with a certain percantage. Not much of use, because you deal mostly physical damage (STR build).

Wind walk series-This provides two skills. Grass walk, which will increase your moving speed and ghost walk-phantom, which teleports you a few meters away at the direction of your mouse pointer. These two skills are the main reason of choosing lightning and not ice or fire. You will be hard to team up on and maybe even imposssible to catch, if your enemy has lower level of grasswalk.

Lion shout series-No use to you because it is a magical damage attack. The weapon masterys have got better ranged skills for your build.

Concentration series-This skill temporarily increas your parry ratio and will lower the damage you take. A good defensive skill that you need.

Thunderbolt force series-Same as Lion shout series, a ranged magical attack that is not very useful to your build.

Heaven’s force series-This skill is a passive one and also adds up on your parry ratio like concentration series. So you should get this one too.

Hope this guide will inspire you to choose the force mastery as one of your main skills. Going lightning as a blader may sound weird because it is not very common. But it is the speed you are after in this build, and not the highest dealing damage like fire or the longest survival rate like ice. You will in some situations stay away from fighting and only act as support. No need to be a super tank (someone who can withstand a lot of damage) like ice bladers or higher damage dealer like fire bladers.

Way to Kill Bots Off

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011

This articles will help you remove bots from your server over an amount of time, it’s not instant gratification so be patient. The reason it’s a long term goal is because the bot user won’t give up after one instance. If many bot users over many times dieing begin to notice, then they will either give up on botting or go to a different server. There are two ways of killing/getting a bot on murder status. A safe but very difficult way, and a dangerous but effective way.

Safe way

If you find a bot (and make SURE it’s a bot, by seeing its actions (hitting monsters usually with a glaive and usually normal swings)(also if it has self heal, AND heals itself before every monster… it’s almost guaranteed a bot) and it running into walls or something and even try to go through them lol) then to safely try to get the bot on murder status you do the following:

1. If you have freeze technique that’s ideal, also hit it a few times (non magic attacks), get it to go agro on you.

2. You WILL get purple status (meaning anyone can kill you, but its temporary) from this so make sure your alone or ppl will try to kill YOU :( !

3. The bot will hopefully follow you and try to attack you. Find a tree or object and run around it quickly enough so the bot get stuck on the other side. You wait 15-17-20 seconds (matters how long after u attacked him, did he follow) and then let him attack you by going to him after the allotted amount of time.

4. If you time if perfectly your purple status will go away to normal status and while he is in the motion of hitting you HE becomes purple! :D

5. Own the shit outa him, use full out attacks ;) .

Dangerous way

Again if you find a bot make sure it’s a bot by the directions above. In this case you want it to be attacking a monster. If you can tell what lvl it is well, by its armors/weapons AND if you can tell the level of monster its fighting and you calculate how much HP the bot should have around AND! See how much dmg the monster is doing to him, your set and can piss the bot users off. Okay here are the steps.

1. Determine a bots exact or approximate level… calculate that into HP (bots are usually full str), and calculate the dmg being done to it.

2. Attack it with an attack to wound it severely, remember! This way is dangerous because if you overdo it, you will become a murderer!

3. Attack it again and time it so when you stop, the monster who is attacking the bot kills it. And your done.

This way is surprisingly less difficult than the safe way. Why? Because to time that purple/normal status perfectly with the bot attacking you in that instant is harder than it sounds.

Silkroad Guide for Pure INT Force Nuker

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011

This build is probably the equivalent of the Wizard nuker.  It contains no bicheon skills because only Bladers get the most out of this tree.  This is mainly for support fire but will be strong as hell at the 150 cap; Chinese can basically only have two masteries.  Why choose a weapon mastery which focuses on phys. attack? Yes, it’s good against other pure INT but this is a support character, Chinese are known to be better at solo, but this is a Party PvPer, it would work well jobbing with other people. It would do decent at solo pvp. If you want a good PvPer, I suggest making a blader.

Gear

You want STR/INT blues, +s, HP/MP increase, SoX (if you can get it). I prefer to wear protector just because you’re not too focused on one area and you’re still getting adequate physical defense.  It’s a good balance between mag. def and phy. def although you will take considerably more damage from phy. base mobs than from mag. based.  The extra phy. defenses and snow shield should make up for the (still) low phy. def. from protector.  The buffs from cold (mag.) and fire (phy.) plus some good SoX protector gear should put you above NPC armor and garment.

S/S has more defenses and can block some attacks. Spear has more attack power but no extra defense power or any extra gear to put blues on. This is why you use both.  Spear for the initial nuke (because it’s stronger) then switch to s/s if your enemy isn’t dead yet. This will be pricey trying to get both weapons SoX, I recommend just getting Spear SoX.  You shouldn’t start dual-wielding until lvl 30 (or when you get your first nukes). Just wield s/s until then.

The Main Skittles

List of skills you will need for now, AGAIN, not sure about the 150 cap, this is just a set up.  There are two paths in the end. Fire/Light 150 or Cold/Light 150.  I like to call these Thunderstorm or Snowstorm (respectively).  Thunderstorm has the strongest attack out of the two.  Snowstorm has more defenses but still packs a punch.  But that will be discovered later at the cap.  But until then, I’m focusing on the 90 cap! Full fledged nuking!! Cold 90 / Lightning 90 / Fire 90

Until level 30 (when you get your first nukes), you should skill Bicheon, but only until lvl 30.  Otherwise you really have no strong attacks until lvl 30.  I only skilled it to 20 because I can kill whatever my level really quick with lvl 20 skills on all lvl 2x mobs.

Pretty much the only skills you need. Skill anything else you wish. I recommend skilling Fire Combustion if you plan on jobbing or even PvP a lot with those tricky euro chars XD, unless you wanna use money on potions that detect invisibility/stealth.

The Secondary Skittles

I recommend skilling Force 30 for powerlevel services until cap is raised. But if you want more than nuking and just some sword skills for fun, Bicheon 30.  Or even more hp, skill Heuksal, although it does not increase much at level 30…

At the 150 cap, you got to choose either Cold/Light 150 or Fire/Light 150. It’s hard to choose. Either way, you’re giving up phys. def and snow shield for stronger attacks or vice versa.  Maybe at the cap it will be simpler, maybe so maybe not.  It’s really only the beginning. I’m still working on it, just leave some suggestions and I may add them into this guide.

Blade Guide for Silkroad

Monday, August 29th, 2011

Blade users have very good defence and a lot of hp, making them very hard to kill. The shield that they carry can couse a lot of problems to the enemy. They are often called Tankers, couse they are truly hard to kill. There is also a negative side to this built – they kill slowly and leveling might be not as fast as other builts.

Why blader?

As i mentioned above, bladers are hard to kill. True, they will have trouble solo pvping. But in groups, thats a diffrant story. Blade users can survive things that others cant, thats why they usually rush in first taking damage so others wont die. It will take quite a few enemys to take down 1 blader, giving others valuable time.

The Built

armor – germant. Note: gives you extra moving speed and mp savage (20% and 20%)

weapon – blade + shield. Note: try to find a shield with a 15+ block ration

stats – pure str (3:0 str:int).

skills – bicheon(blade)  cold  fire. Note: be ready to sp farm

Skills

-> Bicheon – max

You will be doing most of your damage with the blade. All skills are good in here.

1) Smashing series – max

Crosswire – good skill.

2) Chain Sword Attack series – max

main skill of a blade user, very fast attacks, good damage.

3) Shield Technique series – lv 1 first book, lv 1 second book

rarely used skill, if you know that there are enemys running to you, you might wana use this skill to survive the ‘first wave attacks’.

4) Blade Force series – lv 1

this skill is mainly used to lure the enemys towards you. its damage isnt that great.

You can get higher levels of this later. to finish off the enemy if he trys to run.

5) Hidden Blade series – max

(At first you should get lv 1 bloom blade, then at lv 41 get the second book. If you ever get to lv 63 , only then max the first book.)

Its a good damage and a good way to keep the enemy immobilised.

Second book can drop upto 3 enemys.

Note: dont use this skill in groups, as only blade users have the ‘down-attack’ skill.

6) Killing Heaven Blade series – max

Comes in pair with the skill above, you can hit the enemys that are on the ground.

7) Sword Dance Series – lv 1

Same as blade force series only that you can hit several enemys with 1 skill.

8) Shield Protection series [passive] – max

Increases block ration – very useful.

->Fire – max*

*You can keep this mastery 10 levels lower then your level, to save sp

Fire Force series (imbue) – na

At first first book lv 1. at higher levels, lv 1 second book. At very high levels, lv 1 third book.

Fire Shield series – as you like

makes you more immune to ‘effects’. it would be good to have a few levels of this.

at higher levels very useful.

Flame Body series – max

this skill is the main reason why your even learning fire – phsy damage increase (%).

Fire Protection series – as you like.

defence against magic attacks. it would be good to have a few levels of this at higher level very useful.

Fire Wall series – none

Useless?

Flame Wave series – none

Your not a nuker. Pointless.

Devil Force series [passive] – max

It also gives you pshy damage increase (%)

->Cold – **

** You dont have-to learn cold at all if you dont want to, but it gives you huge advantage in pvm and gives you defece that makes you even harder to kill.

Keep this mastery 10-20 levels below your level.

Cold Force series – na

Its lower damage then fire, but has a good effect.

Dont go past second book at first. Later, if you find it useful, learn more.

Frost Guard series – max

extra defece for you

Cold Wave Attack series – some levels.

quite useless with the auto-pot, but get some levels, just in case.

Frost Wall series – none

Pointless?

Frost Nova series – lv 1 first book, lv 1 second book.

same as cold wave attack series.

Snow Storm series – none

Your not a nuker.

Cold Armor series – max

extra defece for you

-> Lightning – Lv 30 (dont ask why 30, hard to explain)

Everyone has lightning, grasswalk is a must.

Grass walk-Flow – Lv 7 (lv 7 is max that you can get with 30 mastery)

Run faster.

Concentration-1st – Lv 3 (lv 3 is max that you can get with 30 mastery)

Extra parry.

Heavens Force series [passive] – lv 3 (lv 3 is max that you can get with 30 mastery)

Extra parry.

Skill combos

Solo (both pvm and pvp)

blade force  sword dance + smash + hidden blade + killing heaven

-or-

blade force  sword dance + smash + chain + chain.

Group

blade force  sword dance + smash + chain + chain.

Guide to Avoiding Scammers

Monday, August 29th, 2011

The growing number of scammers roams the streets. Unfortunately many fall prey to cheap tricks. So here it is a guide to avoiding scammers and cheap tricks.
These people will try to “help” you. They may even be your freind for a few weeks just to get your trust so be aware of a few warning signs.

1) If someone offers to POWER LEVEL your account. Don’t allow it, even if you’ve known this person for a few weeks and such. They will only drain your account of all money and all items worth value. If they don’t do just this, they might just TAKE you account.

2) Some people will offer great items at low low prices. Watch out for them. They will cancel the trade, maybe a few times, but once they do this enough they’ll put a item in the slot that resembles the item your trading for. So if your tradgin for a lvl 24 SOS spear, they might slip in a normal lvl 24 spear.

3) Another group of scammer say they will buy you silk, but they need to get into your account. That is another scam that allows them to get into your account and take your stuff.

4) The last one I can currently think of is stalls. People will keep the price of a certain item low (exanple 200k for a weapon elixer) then after they see you triny to buy it, they’ll boost the price up to a price like 350k or some outrageous price.
- Lv 0 v78>&hat you can get with 30 mastery)”>Grass walk-Flow – Lv 7 (lv 7 ist max, dass man mit 30 Meisterschaft zu bekommen)

Silkroad Guide for a wolf

Friday, August 26th, 2011

This is a simple guide for a wolf. Hope this guide helps many newcomers to this great game of SRO.
If you have 1,000,000 dollars go to the stables and buy a wolf level 1. I prefer to buy at level 1 because you get to know your wolf rather than buy a level 30+ and fight with it and get it killed right away and pay 50,000 dollar to revive it.

You have a wolf, now go out the east/west gate of Jangan and kill mangyans. When you summon a wolf go to the bottom right above the skill toolbar and put the little claw looking thing in the toolbar that way it is easier to make your wolf go kill things easier. Okay now…if you are high enough set up a harmony ring and sit there. If you are in a harmony ring your wolf CANNOT be hit, I repeat, “CANNOT BE HIT”. Now when he is level 5 you can now take a risk or not take the risk. I took my wolf to the Ch’in tomb at level 5 and I went to the far back and killed the big stone monster…aka heoychianeong (I can’t spell it off the top of my head)…and you get like 5-10k exp for him. I bet some of you guys are wandering how your wolf gets exp when you kill. This is true or it would be pointless. If you kill the monster he gets the exp even if some1 else hits it also, he just won’t get the whole thing.

If you remember when u first started to play you may remember what monster you killed in what order. This is the same thing with your wolf except in 4x the speed it took you. Why? Because, you were a lower level then and took you slower to kill. Plus, if you believe your wolf can kill something by itself while you’re not in a circle have it fight something and you fight another one so it goes much faster.

Now you know the basics. Never have your wolf out wearing a job item unless hes level 40+. If you happen to not like your wolf because you are level 40+ sell it for more than what you bought it for. Then with that money and another 1-2m buy a level 35+ and level it to 40 or higher to make it grow up and then you can do trades and have it kill your theifs, etc. last word of advice, ALWAYS watch his health. No matter what level watch his health and if you’re rich bring a few revival pills just in case that 1 to 100 chance happens.

Glaive mini guide for Silkroad

Friday, August 26th, 2011

Anyways you MUST go pure str. The glaive is a str weapon. For the masteries you must max hueskal and fire (this class gives you extra physical damage and more magical defense).Ideas for the remaining class that you should max is under debate. I personally believe that maxing light is the best option because it increases your parry ratio and it gives you grass walk which is like the sexiest buff ever. Force makes you a support character and a glaive is supposed to be for PvP. Cold gives you extra physical defense but you already have enough of that from being pure str.
Skills are another area for debate so I will only tell you the ones that MUST be leveled.
Assuming your character will be level 90
Hueskal (90)
Soul spear
Ghost petal
passive
and one more for leveling (i chose the chain spears)

Fire (90)
Imbue
Physical damage increase buff
Magical defense buff
Passive

Light (90)
parry ratio increase buff
grasswalk buff
passive

Cold (30)
physical defense buff
passive

Note: You MUST go garment. If you do not, you will get torn up by nukes. Besides, you already have enough physical defense being pure str. Other garment bonuses are less mana consumption (which you will not have a lot of) and you will move faster.

How to Get Rid Of Murder Status?

Thursday, August 25th, 2011

Once you are level 20 you can attack or be attacked by any player who is also level 20 or higher, without wearing a cape, without wearing a job item, and without being at war. To do this, you must hold the ALT key when attacking. When you attack someone in this way your name turns pink to indicate offender status. As an offender you may be attacked by any player freely; they will not become offenders, and they can kill you without penalty. Offender status wears off if you have not attacked a player or been attacked by a player for roughly 20 seconds.

If you continue to attack using the ALT key and you kill the other player, your name will turn red to indicate murderer status. This status is much more serious and does not wear off on its own. Every murder gives you 1200 murder points, and adds to your daily PK limit. If you murder a much lower level player, you will be given more than 1 point on your daily PK limit; when this limit reaches 15/15, you cannot murder anyone else until the next day. As a murderer, you have the following penalties:

Any player can kill you with no penalty, as in offender status.

If killed by a player, you lose 20 SP and 2% (less at higher levels) of your experience level.

If killed by a monster, you lose 60 SP and 6% (less at higher levels) of your experience level.

Cannot use return scrolls, dimensional gates, horses, or pack animals.

Cannot open a stall.

Much higher chance to drop items if killed, depending on the level of murder status.

When in town, you lose HP at a rate of 5% every 4 seconds.

When in town, the autopot function does not work.

There are three ways to remove murderer status.

Killing monsters decreases your murder points, depending on the strength of the monster. A monster with a blue name (lower relative level) reduces murder points by 1 per kill; a monster with a red name (higher relative level) can reduce murder points by 7-10 per kill; monsters with green, white or orange names occupy the values in between.

Being killed by a player removes 200 murderer points, except during a cape match, or during job PvP.

Being killed by a monster removes 600 murderer points.

When your murder points reach 0, your name turns white and you are no longer a murderer, but the skull icon remains below your HP/MP bar for another day, or until your daily PK limit is 0.

An Easy way To Earn Money Fast in Silkroad

Thursday, August 25th, 2011

Everyone knows how important money is in silkroad and wants to earn money fast. Here a easy way to earn money fast in silkroad is given.

Special Identity Card (used to be a Hunter): Sells for 440,000 gold at an NPC.

Black Devil Suit (used to be a Thief): Sells for 440,000 gold at an NPC.

Red Flag (used to be a Trader): Sells for 440,000 gold at an NPC.

Gold Dragon Flag (used to boost your Power): Sells in a stall between 1 to 6 million gold.

Other items from the special event that do not quite sell at the high price as the items above, are as follows.

Moving Speed Scroll (increases your speed by 50%): Sells in a stall for about 25,000 to 50,000 gold.

Hit Scroll (increases your hit ratio; meaning that you can hit faster): Sells in a stall for about 20,000 to 40,000 gold.

Dodging Scroll (increases your dodging ratio): Sells in a stall for about 15,000 to 35,000 gold Trigger Scroll (increases your hit and dodging ratio): Sells in a stall for around 45,000 to 60,000.

During special holiday periods there are special events hosted in-game. During these special events, you can get special items that sell for a very high price, such as the following.

To gain money and arrows early in the game, kill the Mangyangs, which drop arrows and money most of the time. If you are not an archer, sell the arrows for 2 gold per arrow.

All the above items can be gained by killing monsters, picking up the Jewel Boxes that they may drop, then giving the boxes to an NPC called “So ok”. She may give you the item that you want. It is purely by chance or luck.
